ANY QUESTIONS?
Everything about getting started, booking, the Baba Pass and the studio.
GETTING STARTED
Do I need a partner?
No. In all partner dance courses, we rotate regularly. When booking, you simply choose whether you'd like to dance as a Leader or Follower.
I've never danced before – which course is right for me?
Any course labelled "Basic 1" or "Beginner" is designed for people with no prior experience. The easiest way to find out: come along for a free taster session and we'll advise you in person.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely, and shoes with a smooth sole (no rubber soles). You don't need dance shoes – socks or trainers with a smooth sole are perfectly fine to start with.
How does the taster session work?
You register online for a taster session, come along to the class once for free, and then decide whether you'd like to book the course. One taster session per style is free of charge.
When is the best time to start a dance course?
Now – in autumn, most of our beginner courses (Basic 1) start across all styles, the evenings get longer, and the groups are freshly formed so everyone begins at the same level. The first lesson is free. Find out why October is the ideal time to start in the article Tanzkurs im Herbst.
COURSES & BOOKING
How long does a course run?
A course runs for one block, typically 8 to 10 weeks, with one lesson per week (60 or 75 minutes). There are no classes during Basel-Stadt school holidays, and dates are adjusted accordingly.
Can I make up a missed lesson?
Missed lessons cannot be refunded. However, with a doctor's certificate or by arrangement with your teacher, you may make up a lesson in an equivalent course.
What happens if I need to cancel?
Up to 7 days before the course starts, you can cancel yourself under "My Courses" – any online payment will be returned automatically to your original payment method (or, if you prefer, we can issue a voucher for the full amount instead). Between 7 days and 48 hours before the course starts, please contact the studio directly: as a gesture of goodwill, we'll issue a voucher for another course. After that point, a refund is only possible if someone else takes your place.
Is there a discount for students or couples?
Yes. Students with a valid student ID receive a discount, and booking as a pair means you benefit from the couple price. Both options are available to select during the booking process.
BABA PASS
What is the Baba Pass?
The Baba Pass lets you attend as many courses as you like for CHF 199 per month. The minimum term is two course blocks, after which the pass renews automatically for one block at a time – we'll remind you in good time beforehand.
Can I put the pass on hold?
In the event of illness or injury with a doctor's note, the pass can be paused and the term extended by the length of the pause. Outside of this, cancellation during the minimum term is not possible.
STUDIO & GETTING HERE

What is the minimum age to participate?
16 years and above; under-18s require parental consent.
